EA-THA CERAMICS

"I really like the different colors of raw clay; I glaze with a transparent glaze for food contact and I like to leave the outside raw for a difference in texture. I like the clean and minimalist style where the object speaks for itself."

EA-THA CERAMICS

Ceramicist, Le Chambon sur Lignon (43)

Léa shares her story, her daily life, and the joy of being able to dedicate herself to what she loves every day.

Tell us your story, how did your vocation come to you?

I discovered ceramics among other activities and was immediately captivated by the texture and the endless creative possibilities. I used to work as a waitress, and I was passionate about creating plates to enhance each dish served and to beautify elegant table settings.

How would you describe your style, your artistic approach, in a few words?

I love the different colors of raw clay; I glaze it with a transparent glaze for food contact and I like to leave the exterior unglazed for a textural contrast. I like the clean, minimalist style where the object speaks for itself.

What themes or subjects inspire you most in your work?

Nature, handmade goods, French craftsmanship

How do you work?

I work from home where I have set up my studio, working with modeling, slabs, and pinching techniques. I give free rein to my imagination as the seasons and my creative desires change.

Tell us about your daily life, your constraints, your joys, your successes…

It's been a year since I launched my freelance business full-time, and I find it wonderful to be able to dedicate myself to what I love doing: meeting people, sharing ideas, and constantly learning more.

Do you have a message you'd like to share, or anything else you'd like to say?

Treat yourself, buy some ceramics and help keep craftsmanship alive and well!
