This large vase with Greek lines was mounted with a coil and a "pinch" (the earth is gradually refined by being pinched between the fingers). This large piece is covered with a white porcelain slip to give it its texture and patina. Slip is a ceramic coating applied to ceramic clay, before firing, to mask its natural color. In the case of the "Cyclades" vase, the whiteness of the porcelain slip thus partially covers the greige-colored sandstone.
This piece is fired at high temperature and is therefore perfectly waterproof.
