The crowd presses forward, as is often the case in the sweltering streets of the Jamaican capital, around the walls of speakers blasting freshly recorded and pressed tunes. Unstoppable dancers, bass screaming from the speakers, the pungent aroma of Blue Mountain ganja, fresh Red Stripe beer to accompany the rice and peas… Here, ordinary people mingle with the stars of reggae's golden age. It's up to you to choose your side: Jack Rubby's sound system? Or perhaps the stage where Jacob Miller and his band Inner Circle, amplified by The Scientist, electrify the crowd?
