Porcelain vase - French craftsmanship

A unique porcelain vase, glazed in white with hand-painted decoration using pen and brush in deep, satiny or glossy blue enamel. The scene depicts a wooded landscape, painted by Danièle Nicole for Serge Nicole.
Made as a unique piece using traditional porcelain methods.

First bisque firing at 980° in an oxidizing atmosphere. Second high-fire firing in a gas kiln, in a reducing atmosphere, at a high temperature of 1330°. The black enamel decoration is hand-painted with a pen and brush during a third firing (known as a low-fire firing) at 850°.
