VALÉRIE PAQUET

NOSE IN FLOWERS

Perfumer & craftswoman, grasse (06)

Valérie tells us how the union of her two passions gave birth to the exceptional products that she offers us today with Nez Dans les Fleurs.

Tell us your story, how did your vocation come to you?

Graduated from Isipca in Versailles and perfumer in Grasse, fragrances and flowers have been part of my daily life for over 20 years....
Passionate about floral art but also leather goods, I wanted to bring together my know-how as a perfumer and craftswoman in a single expression.
In order to reinvent the ancestral heritage of Grasse, once renowned for its leathers, I am now diving my nose into the leather flower to offer you exceptional leather objects, in particular scented leather flowers which will olfactorily and visually mark your interiors. .

How would you describe your style, your artistic approach in a few words?

I create fragrant leather flowers that will diffuse their scent for many months in your interiors, without fear of seeing them fade one day! An exceptional product as much visual as olfactory...

What are the themes or subjects that inspire you the most in your work?

Flowers, and in particular perfume plants, have a special place in the Nez dans les Fleurs universe.
Their beauty but also their perfume are an inexhaustible source of inspiration....
But everything around me inspires me: people, landscapes, smells, gastronomy, and art in general. Being curious and interested in what surrounds us is essential in our daily lives.

How do you work?

My approach is to work mainly with French suppliers, local if possible, to ensure quality know-how and promote the local economy.
I mainly use vegetable-tanned leather, water-based colors and dyes, and I myself create the fragrances that will scent your flowers.
For the Galuchat collection, shagreen leather comes mainly from scraps from luxury leather goods to remain in an upcycling approach.

Do you have a particular technique, a particular know-how? Without revealing all your secrets to us, have you developed your own methods and techniques?

I have developed a special technique to perfume the leather that will be used to make your flowers and fans.
I create the fragrances myself, so I control the entire process of creating my scented leather items.
