THE STORY
A word from the founder
On a personal level, I have always been attracted to manual work and various artistic disciplines (photography, drawing, music, sewing…) and I have discovered a passion for painting.
When my relatives suggested I exhibit my paintings, my first reaction was to laugh.
“Me, in a gallery? I didn’t go to art school, I’m not listed…”.
I felt completely illegitimate.
The idea for Mirette then began to take root in my mind: to offer a space accessible to the widest possible audience, showcasing a multitude of still relatively unknown artists who don't dare approach galleries. And at the same time, to allow artists to reach a clientele that itself doesn't dare frequent these places.
From there, my thinking expanded:
Too many artisans with valuable know-how do not have the time, skills, or desire to manage a website, promotional campaigns, a social media account… They therefore remain too little known and struggle to make a living from their work.
However, buyers' desires are increasingly leaning towards human connection, handmade items, ethical consumption… The desire to feel good at home with meaningful décor.
Mirette's idea was born:
bringing together ethical art and decoration items that value the work of artists and craftspeople, for all rooms of the house, on a single platform.
