Straw marquetry is a very time-consuming and luxurious technique that consists of applying dyed rye straw to various surfaces. I meticulously select each strand, open them, flatten them, and apply them one by one onto different supports (furniture, decorative objects, paintings...).
Dimensions of a single block: width 10cm / height 15cm / thickness 3.3cm
Length of a metal bar: 11cm
Minimum distance between the two blocks: 11cm
The straw is grown, cut, and dyed in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Small-batch piece handmade in my small studio in the Hauts-de-France region.
Materials: MDF, rye straw, white vinyl glue, flat steel profile, metal screws, water-based black paint, water-based varnish.
Please note that color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen calibration.
Shipped via La Poste Colissimo with insurance and interior protective packaging.
Care: Straw is easily marked by bumps and scratches. Wipe gently with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.

Duo of bookends with straw marquetry decoration, featuring a blue Half Sun pattern reminiscent of the Art Deco style.
