The "Chrysalis" vase is a unique piece crafted from sweetgum wood. Entirely turned on a traditional wood lathe, it already reveals a slender elegance and harmonious lines. Its name evokes metamorphosis: the surface, sculpted and then flame-burned, features undulating reliefs and organic striations reminiscent of a chrysalis emerging from its chrysalis.
The lime finish gives the vase a subtle interplay of contrasts, revealing the natural bluish hues of the charred wood beneath the layer of ash. The hollows and edges create an almost fossilized, mineral effect. The sweetgum wood, prized for its density and refined grain, adds depth to the piece.
