Pod – Soliflore in Burnt and Limed Cherry Wood.
Pod is a soliflore carved from cherry wood, marked by fire using the yakisugi technique. Its charred wood reveals a deep texture, sculpted by the flames, while the casein lime wash deposits a light patina in the reliefs. Fixed with a hard natural oil, it oscillates between organic matter and mineral imprint. Its refined silhouette evokes primitive objects, those ancient artifacts bearing stories and mysteries. Like a fossilized pod, a vessel forgotten by time, Pod seems to have emerged from another age, between vestige and rebirth. A soliflore by nature, it can hold a dried stem or simply exist as a contemplative object, playing with light and shadow depending on the angle of view.
